At the Blizzcon 2017 exhibition, Blizzard Entertainment announced the release of World of Warcraft Classic, the “nostalgic” server of the legendary MMORPG with no modern additions and classic gameplay. Interestingly, WoW fans used to work on similar projects on their own, but Blizzard opposed this idea and even shut down several fan servers. Now the studio decided to please gamers who love the gameplay of the original WoW, and showed the trailer Classic.
“We want to resurrect the gaming experience that everyone enjoyed in the classic World of Warcraft,” executive producer Jay Allen Brack commented on the upcoming release.
According to Brack, the team is already actively working on a new server. Nevertheless, the release date of World of Warcraft Classic remains unknown.
