At the Game Developers Conference 2018 in San Francisco, Google announced Google Play Instant – an updated application system for Android, which allows you to run them without installing on the device. The technology can be tested right now on Clash Royale, Words with Friends 2, Bubble Witch 3 Saga and some other games.
Google introduced the Android Instant Apps system in May 2016, and in January 2017 gave the opportunity to run some applications without installation. In May of the same year, the company opened to all developers access to the Android Instant Apps SDK. Now Google renamed the technology to Google Play Instant and added support for games.
According to the company, such games are available on more than a billion devices around the world – to work the technology requires Android 5.0 Lollipop or higher. These projects can be found in the special section of the app store and in the corresponding collection of the updated Google Play Games service.
Google hopes that over time, developers will post on their sites links to such demos, and users will publish invitations on social networks. After testing the project, you can immediately install its full version by clicking on the special button.
Google Play Instant is still in the beta test phase, so not every developer can use the system. To all comers, it will be available “in the coming months”.
