ASUS introduced a slim gaming laptop called Zephyrus S. Recall that the Zephyrus line debuted last year at Computex and was equipped with NVIDIA GTX 1080 Max-Q graphics cards. In April 2018, the manufacturer introduced the updated Zephyrus M with a classic keyboard design and a less powerful GTX 1070 Max-Q. Now the Taiwanese company has replenished the series with one more device, which became the manufacturer’s slimmest gaming laptop.
The thickness of Zephyrus S varies from 14.95 to 15.7 mm in the thickest place. The notebook is equipped with a 15.6-inch display with thin frames, Full HD resolution, 144 Hz scan rate and 3 ms response time.
It is noted that thanks to the minimal frames the novelty is comparable in size with 14-inch models. Inside Zephyrus S there are Intel Core i7-8750H processor and NVIDIA GTX 1070 Max-Q graphics or full GTX 1060.
Zephyrus S received a keyboard from the bottom with a trackpad on the right side, like the first model of the ruler. This allowed ASUS to build in the notebook an improved cooling system with 12-volt coolers and optimized radiators.
In addition, ASUS showed 17-inch gaming Strix Scar II GL704. The hardware of the laptop is identical to the Zephyrus S, but only the GTX 1060 is available as a maximum.
For owners of ASUS computers with LED backlighting also released the Armory Crate application with advanced options for controlling the built-in LED-backlighting.
