Samsung officially introduced the mobile processor Exynos 5 Series 7872, designed for use in smartphones and mid-level phablets.
The announced product is manufactured using 14-nanometer FinFET technology. The chip consists of six cores: the ARM Cortex-A73 duo with a clock speed of 2.0 GHz and the ARM Cortex-A53 quartet with a clock speed of up to 1.6 GHz.
The graphics subsystem relies on the integrated Mali-G71 MP1 controller. Devices on the Exynos 5 Series 7872 platform can be equipped with a display with a resolution up to WUXGA (1920 × 1200 pixels).
The processor allows to use the operative memory LPDDR3, as well as flash memory eMMC 5.1. Provides support for wireless Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 5.0, satellite positioning systems GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo.
The new platform allows you to complete mobile devices with front and rear cameras with a resolution of up to 21.7 million pixels each. Additionally, an 8-megapixel sensor can be installed for the user’s identification system for the iris of the eye.
The chip contains a built-in LTE modem for working in the networks of the fourth generation. The download speed of information can reach 300 Mbit / s, the data transfer rate towards the base station is 150 Mbit / s.
