Last week we told you about the unusual Zanco Smart-Pen phone, made in the form of a stylus. Today’s article is devoted to the unique MATRIX PowerWatch 2 smartwatches, which work from body heat and solar energy and do not require the usual charging from the network.
About the project
The company Matrix Industries collects funds on the Indiegogo platform to produce smart watches PowerWatch 2. The main feature of smart watches is that they do not require the usual charging from the network.
MATRIX PowerWatch 2 is equipped with a color display, GPS module and a heartbeat sensor. To charge the built-in battery, a thermoelectric generator and a solar panel are used. The first allows you to extract energy from the user’s body heat – by the way, the same was used in the first version of the smartwatch. Innovation, which the company added to the second version, was the solar panel, which is located around the device screen.
In the first version of the clock, the thermoelectric generator produced energy in a small amount, which is why it was only enough for the simplest functions. The solar panel allowed developers to improve their smartwatches – MATRIX PowerWatch 2 received a color screen, a pulse sensor and a GPS module.
At the moment, the MATRIX PowerWatch 2 project has already collected more than $ 1,163,783 on the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform. Before the end of the campaign, smart watches can be purchased for $ 249, while their regular price will be $ 499. According to the information on the project page, the first buyers will receive MATRIX PowerWatch 2 tentatively in June of the current year.
